Guildford station improvements

Improvement works are underway at Guildford Station to provide a new, larger ticket office, refurbished toilets, increased cycle storage and a wider platform entrance.

Work started this week and is expected to be complete by mid October.

From next Monday (September 15) work to extend the booking office will mean the introduction of a temporary ticket office, providing two, rather than the normal four, windows. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and urge passengers to allow extra time for buying tickets while this work takes place.

Passengers may also like to make use of use of our easy-to-use self-service machines using cash, debit and credit cards. These machines offer a wide range of tickets including:

  • 7 Day Season Tickets
  • tickets with Railcard discounts
  • a wide range of tickets to most UK destinations
  • Day Return tickets to London including One Day Travelcards
  • daily car park tickets
  • tickets for tomorrow are now available to buy from ticket vending machines after 15:00 the day before you travel.

Guildford Station Manager Tim Keen said:
“I know this is going to be inconvenient for passengers in the short term, however the long term benefits of a larger ticket office with an extra window, making five in total, will be good news for passengers. We have also made sure we will have additional staff on hand during the works to assist people who may be using the TVMs for the first time.”

The improvements works, which follow a recent repaint of much of the station, will also result in an enlarged WH Smith and several new food outlets. There are also plans for a Marks and Spencer Simply Food outlet.
